Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the correspondence. We do not disclose the message outside our organization unless the law requires us to do so.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical and usage details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show broad patterns, such as popular pages and where visits end. Analytics vendors may combine this traffic information into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, though some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. The site describes where Tehama County records are held and how official requests work through the sheriff, Superior Court, California Department of Justice, and California Megan's Law Website. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is subject to the provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and disclosure rules, rather than this policy. Review that provider's terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Tehama County Sheriff, Superior Court, California agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Check it before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will take steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following provisions. Depending on whether the law applies, those rights may include the ability to:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. Any revision will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors should review the current version periodically.
